Diogo Jota has been honoured by his former club Wolves.

A fans’ favourite during his time at Molineux, Jota made 131 appearances for Wolves between 2017 and 2020, scoring 44 goals and helping Nuno Espirito Santo’s side earn promotion to the Premier League and back-to-back European campaigns.

His unfortunate passing last week has drawn thousands of tributes from fans worldwide, including those of Liverpool and Wolves.

At Anfield, thousands of fans have laid flowers, shirts, pictures and letters in honour of Jota’s memory.

Numerous tributes have also been paid to the Portuguese forward by Wolves supporters, who have left flowers, shirts and other memorabilia around the Billy Wright statue on Waterloo Road.

The club staff and players are the latest to honour the former forward.

Head coach Vitor Pereira, his staff and players visited Molineux on Thursday afternoon to pay tribute to the former Portuguese player who passed in an automobile accident last week.

Pereira laid flowers to join the thousands of floral tributes, pictures and shirts left by Wolves fans following Jota’s passing.

Meanwhile, Jota’s Liverpool teammates, Luis Diaz and Alisson Becker, were present at the seventh-day mass of Jota and brother André on Wednesday evening.

In a touching display of solidarity and remembrance, Diaz and Alisson joined around 100 mourners at the Capela da Ressurreição São Cosme in Gondomar, Portugal, on Wednesday evening for the 7th-day memorial mass honouring the brothers.

The emotional gathering comes exactly one week after the tragic car accident in Zamora, Spain, that claimed the lives of both brothers – a tradition deeply rooted in Portuguese Catholic culture where families and friends reconvene seven days after the funeral to pray for the souls of the departed.

Additionally, Liverpool CEO Billy Hogan has confirmed that the club will speak with Diogo Jota’s family at the appropriate time to discuss further tributes for the late Reds star.
